Scholarship

Purpose:
The purpose of the National Defense Industrial Association Scholarship Endowment is to provide financial support for personnel from the greater Eglin AFB community to attend local colleges and universities.  Currently, two scholarships are sponsored:

  • Okaloosa-Walton College: Bachelor of Applied Science in Project and Acquisition Management
  • University of West Florida:  Bachelor of Science in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
Other degrees that support the mission of Eglin AFB may be considered. 

Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates for the scholarship should be personnel from the greater Eglin AFB area who plan to attend either Okaloosa-Walton College to receive a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Project and Acquisitions Management or the University of West Florida and obtain an engineering or other technical degree. Applicants should possess a minimum grade point average of 2.5. The applicant should have a demonstrated financial need.

Selection Procedures:
Applicants for the scholarship should complete the OWCC or UWF Foundation Scholarship Application and the application for federal financial aid. The Federal Financial Aid application will be used to assess financial need. The Foundation will provide the selection committee (described below) with a grid of applicant names.



Selection Committee:
The selection committee for the scholarship will consist of representative(s) of the National Defense Industrial Association, Executive Director of the Foundation and Director of Financial Aid at OWCC or Engineering Scholarship Committee at UWF. The respective Foundations will provide the administrative support for the committee.
